Last week I learned I had heated rear seats. Today I found this. I think it is ski storage

I too have a ski bag.

You will find many things in the winter package. Yes, you have heated rear seats (and a heated steering wheel most likely), and yes, you have a ski condom.

Winter package was life. Like c’mon front and rear 6 stage heated seats? Hellls yeah!
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:15 |

That is awesome, is that ski condom built into the seat?
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:30 |

No silly that’s the built in sleeping bag
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:35 |

No silly, that’s the dead hooker storage bag.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:35 |

I don’t think I (any longer) have a heated steering wheel
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:36 |
|
It is. It was quite a surprise
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:39 |

See, that’s what I’m talkin’ about. The owners manual is just a collection of spoilers.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:40 |

Is it waterproof? Can you turn it inside out and make a place to hide ice and beers?
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:42 |

See if pressing and continuously holding the unlock button on the keyfob rolls down the windows.

You’re hired
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:45 |

Happy to see that your allroad is allroading.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:51 |

Negative, which is OK cuz the window has a hard time going back up. That’s actually one of the things I got at the junk yard today a new motor
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:51 |

Did you find a first aid kit?
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:52 |

Lol it feels like it would. Awesome tailgate party bonus
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:53 |

I would love to have the owners manual
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:55 |

Actually when I was investigating the ski condom I did find that
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:57 |
|
Yeah, and so would this guy, but that wouldn’t be entertaining for the rest of us either.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:57 |

Yep it’s been a whole 2 months
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:57 |

Do you love it?
![]() 02/28/2016 at 21:59 |

I don’t know who he is
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:00 |

Maybe the allured never did, I can’t remember.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:01 |

I’d describe the emotion more like.... Fear. I loved the WRX. I do like the car, I just have my concerns
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:03 |
|
Well I call it love. Your tent-city thing you did for the suspension. Come on, that’s devotion!
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:04 |

they may have, who knows, mine could and just didn’t Work
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:05 |

Sorry, I’m showing my age.

I tore apart an A6 today to get a new door latch and window motor. I’d love to bring it back to its former glory, I just hope it still has the fight in it without taking my wallet and leaving me on the side of the road
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:12 |
|
Lol when was this
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:20 |

On some Audis the button for the heated steering wheel is an unmarked button on the back side of one of the steering wheel spokes.

That's the transportation bag for when you run over small Asian people. They are the only ones who can fit in that pass through. Also, this small space it why Cadillac is the preferred option of trunks for the Italians.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:25 |

Always thought those were cool but was disappointed you can’t really fit a snowboard in them.
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:25 |

Nope. Maybe that’s on the newer ones? This is 03

About ‘81. It was hilarious. Fun fact: the character’s name was Hinkley at first. Then, a season or two in, that guy named Hinkley shot Reagan, and the producers changed their character’s name midstream to not be associated with the would be assassin.

Snowboards probably weren’t that much of a thing when this was designed. It maybe they weren’t classy enough
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:32 |

Lol good to know. I do frequent China Town
![]() 02/28/2016 at 22:34 |

Yea that’s a bit before my time. I was born in 85.

I could use one of those in the Sonata about now. This will be my back seat until I get my car back.
The standards will go in the top box once the WRX is home.
Oh yeah! I have the final estimate in and work has begun. I’ll run the next round of guess the price tomorrow!
![]() 02/28/2016 at 23:48 |

Probably a little bit of both.

I was asked to leave Aspen by skiers back in the late 90s. Can confirm luxo car makers would have avoided associating with my kind and not taken our needs into consideration
![]() 02/29/2016 at 07:42 |

I did track back in the day, well cross country.
![]() 02/29/2016 at 07:43 |

![]() 02/29/2016 at 07:44 |

if those people are still skiing they must be losing thier minds now
![]() 02/29/2016 at 07:49 |

Have you confused yourself with the rear fog light yet?

I was wondering about the finances of your All-road versus just keeping your WRX. With all the repairs, are you still ahead of where you would have been had you kept the WRX?
![]() 02/29/2016 at 08:29 |
|
I ran cross-country, but I quit when I started having knee and ankle problems. Well, that and I realized that I would never be able to keep up with Jim, one of my teammates. He was running in a different league, one that I would never be able to achieve. I think he placed third in state our sophomore year.
The world of competitive running has changed dramatically since I was a kid. We know so much more about how to train properly, avoid injury, and prepare the kids for peak performance at the meets. I also will never utter my track coach’s favorite words: “Run through the pain.” Stitch in the side? Sure, you can work through that. But joint pain means there’s a problem, coach.

there is more to factor in. We didnt want two monthly payments and I was also working at a job which provided a car for work use. On the weekends we used my wife’s Escape which was aging and it didn;t make sense to pay for a car that didn;t get driven when we could use a better family-mobile. Unfortunately my boss decided I wasn’t the best fit for the job about a month after I sold it. I got $8k back form the WRX, and about $4700 into the Allroad. As long as nothing major goes wrong in the next year i’ll be happy
![]() 02/29/2016 at 08:55 |

yea, i was never that good. my coach was actually my wifes father. He died after I had stopped running. I didn’t really know my wife back then, we ran into each other at a pool hall when I was in college. half the time her mother has a glass of wine she gets all sentimental about how I knew her father.

Good to see the ledger is still in the black! We were thinking about trading in my wife’s Explorer for something a bit smaller or better suited to her purposes. Since the WRX wreck, we’ve been talking about trading it in instead. Now that both have been wrecked, I don’t know what we are going to do.
The WRX was holding its value much better than the Explorer, but we have more payments into the Explorer so it has more equity. Decisions, decisions.

they likely lost their mind on that day too. we were asked, but we sure as hell didnt leave.
![]() 02/29/2016 at 09:12 |

keep the WRX. I feel like mine ruined me and it will be rather difficult to find something that would surpass the WRX.
it would take a lot to get to this thing. If you can listen to his parts list. amazing.

It sure is pretty.
I’m more of a keep it stock and in good condition kinda guy. It’s hard for me to justify spending money to make a car faster or perform better, especially when there are lots of other things vying for my money - kids, school (ah! college is coming!), other hobbies, a wife who likes pretty things, a house that needs maintenance, dogs, etc.
You have given sage advice.
![]() 02/29/2016 at 09:31 |

yes, thats kind of the problem I’m having right now. The performance slice of my budget is more ‘keep it running’ performance level.
